Candidiasis

Candidiasis is an infection caused by fungi of the Candida species, most commonly by Candida Albicans. Candida albicans is a fungus and a form of yeast which can cause genital and oral infections in humans. Candidiasis is the infection which can cause superficial symptoms like vaginitis and oral thrush and can also cause more severe and life-threatening diseases.

Usually, the infection causes itching, discomfort, and redness in the affected area. However, if treatment is not started quickly the infection, being opportunistic, may also lead to more severe and serious diseases. At an initial stage, it only causes the patient to cause restlessness and discomfortness but later the symptoms can become critical and uncurable. Thereby to avoid such critical condition it is important for the patient to analyze the symptoms beforehand and take the immediate actions of prevention to avoid any unwanted situation in the future.

Oral thrush or oral candidiasis mostly affects children. Adults more commonly become the subject of vaginitis or vaginal irritation. When the vagina or vulva is affected by the infection, it may lead to intense itching, inflammation and soreness and the discharge of a whitish substance. It can thereby cause great discomfort and with time can grow to become a serious disease which may be incurable with the increasing time.

Antifungal drugs are used for the treatment of candidiasis. Oral health care specialist suggests that if this particular disease is not treated at a prior time, it can lead to a severe stage and an individual can be helpless at a later stage. A disease should not be left untreated and it should be taken seriously and thereby making it important that the patient should start the early treatment as soon as possible. The drug also known as an Antifungal drug is the best mode of treatment and thereby it will help the patient to recover from this disease at a much faster rate.
