Endodontic treatments

Endodontic treatments

Endodontics is the collective name for all the treatments which include procedures pertaining to the tooth pulp and the tissues adjacent to the tooth roots. Endodontics is one of the nine recognized dental specialties in which dentists choose to be trained, practice and specialize in, after the general dentistry. This dental specialty is recognized by the American Dental Association, Royal College of Dentists of Canada and Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.

Endodontics include numerous procedures and treatments. Some of these endodontic treatments are:

  • Root canal therapy or treatment

  • Endodontic retreatment

  • Cracked teeth treatment surgery

  • Dental trauma treatment

Endodontic treatments prevent, diagnose and treat the diseases involving the dental pulp and periapical tissues. A tooth which is affected and weak from the inside is brought into a state in which it will function properly.
